Instructions for the hopscotch game:
The child starting the game (usually the youngest) tries to throw a ring onto the square with the number 1. If successful, they can start the game.
They hop on one foot over all the squares sequentially from 1 to 10 - standing astride on double squares. On the way back, the player must stop on the square with the marker, pick it up, and return to the starting line to try to gain another square.
If the player wobbles, places both feet on one square, or touches a line, they lose their turn to the next player and must start over. If the marker misses the square or touches a line when thrown, the player loses their turn.
The winner is the one who first gains all the squares.
